Chamaedorea might be the most popular indoor palm in our areas. It brings a piece of the rain forest into the house and looks attractive with its fine, feathered leafs. The evergreen indoor mountain palm grows relatively slow and is very low maintenance.
Growing Conditions:
light:
Low light will be tolerated but like all houseplants, deep shade will not go down well (unless it’s only for a short period). Some sun will be helpful, but harsh sunshine will scorch the leaves.
Water:
Underwatering a chamaedorea is better than overwatering. Water well then wait until the surface of the soil has dried out, at which point water well again. Limit the amount of water given when light or temperature levels are low simply because in those conditions plants don’t need as much water.
